Tours on the Danube in Vienna
During the whole summer season (April to October), boats leave regularly in Vienna for tours open to individuals and groups alike. The grand tour on the Danube lasts about 3h30: the boat will leave from the pier in Schwedenplatz on the Danube canal to head towards the Urania Observatory and the pier near the Hundertwasser house, before reaching the bed of the Danube river via the Freudenau lock, it will then go upstream until the Reichsbrücke (Empire Bridge). From there, you will enjoy an amazing view of the Danube Island, the Danube Tower and Danube city; it is also possible to finish or to start the tour from the bridge. After a short stop, the journey will go on past the Millenium Tower. You will see Mount Kahlenberg and Klosterneuburg before entering again the Danube canal via the Nussdorf lock. Then you will go past the Otto Wagner buildings, the Rossauer Kaserne and Vienna old town, before going back to Schwedenplatz pier where the tour ends. If you do not wish to go on the full circuit on the Danube river, it is possible to book only the part which goes from Schwedenplatz to the Reichsbrücke (about 2 hours) or from the Reichsbrücke to Schwedenplatz (about 1h30). Trips Vienna-Bratislava on the Danube
Vienna and Bratislava are the two geographically closest capital cities in the world. Moreover, they share the same great river: the Danube, which contributed to the economic development of both cities. Whereas one used to need several hours to go from Vienna to Bratislava by boat, thanks to considerable technical improvment it is now much faster: the catamaran "Twin City Liner" carries passengers from Vienna to Bratislava and from Bratislava to Vienna everyday from April to October in only 1h15. Trips Vienna-Budapest on the Danube
From May to September, hydrofoils journey daily from Vienna to Budapest. The trip lasts about 6h30 (Budapest-Vienna) or 5h30 (Vienna-Budapest). With Vienna city tours, it is possible to book both Vienna-Budapest and Budapest-Vienna journeys; if you so wish, we can also organise sightseeing tours and guided visits in Vienna or in Budapest. Please note that the boats running up and down the Danube river between Vienna and Budapest do so only once a day in each direction. If you wish to go on a return journey on the Danube, you will have to spend the night in Vienna or in Budapest. For your ceremonies, incentives, or special events in Vienna, you can rent private boats; it is also possible for groups to rent part of a public boat for a private function during its regular journeys. Many well-equipped boats are available for rental on the Danube. The maximum capacity of the boats is 450 persons (covered) or 600 persons (deck included).
